In the UK, a normally sceptical media has carried the reports of miracles and healings. Following the headline, "IT'S A MIRACLE! Blind woman regains sight at faith crusade!", reporter Tim Parr in the Warrington Star (26th November 1987) went on to state that, "This is a different kind of church. A slogan, "In this meeting you are only a stranger once", came true for the many people who left having met Jesus..." "Edie Atherton went to a gospel crusade in search of a miracle. And that was just what the pensioner found... for a couple of hours later she emerged and threw away her white stick and dark glasses- badges of the blindness which had afflicted her for three years. Edie (88) was given back the gift of sight in front of hundreds who crammed into Warrington Parr Hall, Warrington for the evangelical healing crusade.'' "Edie... had been totally blind for the past three years but her sight had deteriorated ever since she was a child, when she lost the sight in one eye. "it's amazing to be able to see, and all I can do is just thank Jesus for curing me." "I went up to the front of the hall and the minister put his hands on my head and it was as thought it was the hands of the Lord. I sat down after feeling dozey, suddenly I found I could see." Edie's miracle came at the start of the crusade by the fast growing Elim Pentecostal Church which attracted more than 4,000 Warringtonians. Other claims of mirracles included a man being cured of chronic arthritis and a 22-year-old married man claimed a cure for his torn ligaments which doctors had told him would take weeks to heal." "Paul Epton, a well known Evangelist and a witness to many "Miracles" said, " I have seen deaf, blind and cripples healed by prayer. I have seen walking sticks, wheelchairs and zimmers cast away. I have seen diabetics completely cured and children cured of illnesses"." Read the whole article HERE>> Front Page - Page 5

"Healing touch at Barking's own miracle week." Wayne Tuckfield of The Post (Wednesday 27th September 2000) reported that "The miracles of religious healing were seen in Barking last week as residents with deafness, breathing problems and severe pains claimed to have been cured. One father even said he noticed incredible improvement in his daughter who suffers from cerebral palsy. The week-long event was held in a 300-seat tent in Barking Park, Longbridge Road and was hosted by the Elim Evangelistic Team, which includes international Evangelist Paul Epton, who has seen deaf, blind and disabled people cured by his prayer... many were crying as they saw the healing taking place." "Lucy is two years old and has cerebral palsy. Paul Carter [her father] said, "Lucy couldn't walk or talk. I brought her here on Sunday, and over the last few days she has been saying more and more. Her speech is really coming on. She is even starting to walk a little bit now and just seems to be getting stronger and stronger every day." "Violet Edwards... has been suffering from heart and lung problems and needed oxygen every night. She went to Paul Epton on the first night and told the POST: "I am breathing a lot better now and I haven't needed to use the oxygen since...I would like to thank God for my answered prayer." "Dean White... has been deaf in his right ear since his childhood. He went for healing three days in a row, and on Thursday, he started to hear out of both ears." Read the whole article HERE>> |
