Our
History

The Wirral Christian Centre started life as an Elim Pentecostal Church in March 1973. The Rev. Alexander Tee held a Revival & Divine Healing Crusade in Birkenhead Town Hall and formed a small Church, in a former Welsh Methodist Church building.

On the first Sunday only seven people turned up for the morning Communion service and fourteen for the Sunday evening service. From those humble beginnings the Church continued to grow and has pioneered several daughter Churches and in itself is one of the largest Churches on the Wirral.

The Church outgrew its premises and purchased the derelict Birkenhead Children's Hospital. This was transfomed into a Luncheon Club, Day Nursery, Youth Complex, and the main Church, seating over 400 people and in April 1985 H.R.H. Princess Alexandra opened the completed building for us. MORE>>
